Frequently Asked Questions

How long does it take to build a website?
Typically, most website builds take between 6-10 weeks depending on the number of pages, photography/videography needs, and how complex the project is. If we have the content and creative assets upfront, we can move very quickly and complete the project in 6 weeks or less. If we are developing everything from scratch, it will take longer, but generally speaking, web design projects should not take longer than 10-12 weeks at the most.
How many pages do I get with my website?
A big part of what we do is help you figure this part out. Most people think they need more when in fact they need less. We recommend fewer pages, but the important thing is that they are intentional, well designed, and curated to speak directly to your target audience. Our starter websites are between 1-4 pages. Business sites are 5-7, and custom projects are up to 10 pages, but typically don’t need to be more than that.
Will my website be mobile-friendly?
Yes! In today’s world it must be. All our sites are designed to be completely responsive, which means that they will look great and function well on desktop, laptop, tablet, or mobile.
Do you do SEO for my website when you build it?
We will ask you upfront if you intend to do SEO after your website build. If so, then we will build it out strategically to incorporate the pieces we know we need for SEO. If you aren’t sure, then we will build the site to attract your target customer, and then return to the SEO conversation when the time is right to continue development. SEO is a crucial component for some businesses, and it’s not the right fit for others. We can help advise you on whether or not your business should pursue SEO.
Can you help me write content for my website?
Yes! Many clients know what they want to say, but are paralyzed by the idea of having to figure out how to say it. Putting pen to paper can be a tough thing if it’s not what you do every day. We can help. Our project managers are skilled in these areas and can assist with content creation, curation, and photography/videography production as well.
How much does a new website cost?
Cost will vary based on the number of pages, and what we’ll be helping you with. If you want a 3 page site, and you already have photos, content and design assets, that will be very different than if you want 10 pages with complete content development, photography, videography, integrations etc. After we have an initial call with you to assess your needs, we will put together a quote for you.
Will you maintain my site for me?
Yes! All sites need hosting, security, and maintenance, and that’s why we offer website care plans. After we build your site, we can move you to a website care plan or an SEO package depending on your business and your needs.
I already have a website, how easy is it to change it?
It depends on when and how your website was built. If it is a WordPress site that was built last year, that’s a completely different story than if your website is 10 years old. We will evaluate your website’s overall condition and health and make recommendations regarding if you need a rebuild, or simply some basic care, maintenance, and content/creative tweaks.
What is the difference between a domain and hosting?

This is a question we get a lot. Your domain is simply the name of your website, and address you are sending people to. You might already have a domain name or several, or you might need help finding one, and we can assist with that. Domains are typically not expensive to purchase, and have to be renewed yearly to continue ownership.


Hosting is what happens when your website goes live. In order for people to see and interact with your website, it has to “live” somewhere or “rent space” online in order for it to work properly. What we do with our plans is manage this for you, so it’s one less thing you have to worry about. Similar to the domains, this has to be renewed on an ongoing basis to keep your website live. For all of our sites with managed hosting, we also provide maintenance, security, and support so that your websites stay up and running without any issues.

Do you build e-commerce websites?
Although we have in the past, and have the skills to do so, at this time we do not build e-commerce sites. They are very time consuming to build and maintain, and we recommend working with a provider that focuses on this on a daily basis.
Do you only create WordPress websites?
Yes, we work exclusively with WordPress. The reason for this is that it’s a dependable platform to build in and then use to manage and maintain your site. And it’s also SEO friendly which is incredibly valuable for our clients. Other platforms can be good if you are building and maintaining a very simple site yourself, but there can be many issues. For high-quality, well developed websites that can be SEO optimized and function well for the long haul, we recommend WordPress. If you have a site that you are happy with, but are experiencing issues because of the way it was built, we can rebuild it in WordPress to resolve this.
